The Bechdel Test is a simple but revealing test of female media representation which is often applied to popular movies. A film passes the test if there are two named women characters who talk to each other about something other than a man. This exhibit looks at the Bechdel Test scores of recent top-grossing films from the MSU Libraries' Rovi Media Collection, explores two other similar media tests, and highlights some general resources on the topic of media representation.
Exhibit curated by Autumn Faulkner, Cataloging & Metadata Services Librarian.
